Top 5 Reasons to Declutter your Body

May 26th, 2010 Posted in Clutter Busting, Creating Change, Detoxing, Inspiration & Passion, Intentions, Raw Food | 5 Comments »

If you’re carrying around extra pounds or feeling tired, lethargic, and stuck in some area of your life, that’s a sign your system is toxic. Just imagine what’s been accumulating over the years - what you’ve put into your body and what you’ve absorbed in the air and water supply. Cleansing your body is crucial for vibrant health.

Here are 5 very good reasons to declutter your body:

1. Shed unwanted pounds: fat is how the body protects itself by absorbing toxins and protecting vital organs from them. The more fat you have, the more toxins. A cleanse gives your body a chance to release those toxins and the result is less fat and fewer pounds. This can be just what you need to encourage you to make longer term changes in what you put into your body to reach your optimal weight.

Extra weight puts pressure on your joints. If you have aches and pains even ten pounds less can make a huge difference in how you’re feeling. Decluttering your body does what a pain killer does, without adding more chemicals. Even ten pounds less can have a big impact on your health and how you feel.

10 Can’t Miss Ways to Declutter your Mind

May 6th, 2010 Posted in Clutter Busting, Simplifying | 6 Comments »

Decluttering is one of the most powerful self transformation tools I know. I believe pretty much everything comes down to decluttering one way or another. Letting go of what no longer supports you in being all of who you are - sounds simple, right?

What if you want to do a big mind declutter? It’s not like you can use the same principles as decluttering your home. Imagine: first, completely empty your mind - clean it out, look for cobwebs, space clear it, possibly paint it, and only then put back the ideas and beliefs that support you in where you’re going. Let go of the ones that represent where you’ve been! Get them out of your mind and out of your environment. Your old ideas and beliefs are someone else’s treasures!

Yes, well….. if only it was so easy!

Here are 7 can’t miss ways to declutter your mind (when the advice above doesn’t work!)

1. Morning Pages: a powerful way to declutter your mind. These are 3 pages of stream of consciousness writing. Start moving your hand and don’t think, don’t stop, don’t edit - just spew out everything on your mind. Best done first thing in the morning for greatest effect! You’ll be surprised what comes out - some great pieces of inspiration even. I asterisk anything that seems brilliant as I write (without stopping) and at the end grab these gems and tear up the rest. Just as with any other kind of clutter, it’s counterproductive to hold onto the clutter in your mind!

2. Hell yes, Hell no, maybe: my coach, Andrea J Lee introduced me to this concept. For the creative entrepreneur types among us - and others, this is great for sorting your idea clutter. Start with three columns and as you consider each possible project/service/offering you have in mind - put it in the ‘hell yes’. ‘hell no’ or ‘maybe’ column. It’s amazing how well this works - looked at like this your ideas almost sort themselves. Then go forth with the ‘hell yes’ list!

Want an inspired life? Save $300 today!

May 3rd, 2010 Posted in Inspiration & Passion | No Comments »

A year from now you may wish you had started today!
– Karen Lamb

Today’s the last day to save $300 on the Living your Inspired Life program!

Do you have questions about this program? Here are the answers to some of the most common questions I’ve been receiving:

1. What can I expect to change in my life?
When you know what you are most passionate about, what you love doing more than anything and start moving towards that, the Universe steps in to put people and circumstances your way. Aligning your energy in this way means it’s almost magical the way your life changes. Here are some of the highlights participants in the current program have experienced so far - and we’re just half way through:

  • one woman is now offering retreats for women - this feeds her soul and enables her to create an exit strategy from her present work.
  • following her passion to photograph in France, one participant has rented an apartment in view of the Sacre Coeur in Paris to use as a base to explore from.
  • getting clear on the kind of environment that would support her has led one participant to move from a small isolated town to a small city where she has everything she needs within walking distance. She found her perfect new home and she’s started her new business being a Virtual Assistant.
  • one woman has started a coaching business and over the last few months got clear that the house she’s been renovating with her husband is not where they’re staying. Things are moving fast towards selling this one and moving to the coast which is where they’d both love to be - they didn’t know this before.
  • another participant has decided not to sell her home as she’s got clear this is where she wants to be and has landed an exciting project with Microsoft that she can do from home as she sets her life up to travel more.
  • another participant got clear she wanted to paint, met a group who were traveling to Newfoundland in summer for a painting workshop and manifested the means to go with them. This is a life long dream she never thought would happen.
  • along the way they have each transformed their homes to reflect the clarity they have about where their lives are going, so their home inspires them and gives them a sense of peace and space to create an life they love.

2. Why is it a 12 month program?
It’s 12 months to give you the focus and accountability you need to create sustainable outcomes. I have so many tools and strategies to share with you and in 12 months you have the time and space to discover which ones you’d like to integrate into your life. With the support and accountability in this group you’ll see results from the first month. The first month by the way sets you up for success with a three step process to create measurable change in one area of your life within 30 days - usually less.

3. What is Inner Feng Shui?
Well, you know what Feng Shui is, right? It’s the process of arranging your physical environment to support your success. The part that often gets missed is that it’s crucial to align your inner self - who you’re being with your environment and your highest vision of your life - otherwise there’s a conflict between your inner and outer self and while you will experience change, it will not be as powerful or sustainable as it could be. Who you’re being is crucial to the outcomes you achieve in any part of your life. Inner Feng Shui combined with Feng Shui in your home is incredibly powerful - it’s like Feng Shui on steriods! In this program we focus on both - setting you up for success - on your terms.

4. I want to make a difference and I feel guilty when I take time for myself so I feel exhausted - how can I resolve this conflict?
Ah, this is common with women who want to be of service. This program will support you in challenging your old way of being - being all things for all people. You’ll experience the difference it makes to renew your soul. You’ll experience being able to be there even more for others and make more of a difference when you make yourself a priority - even thought that possibility may seem remote right now. This is what will give you your inspired life where your passion, creativity and energy make MORE of a difference in the world than they do right now - because you’re at peace with yourself and clear about what you’re here to do.

5. Couldn’t I just do this by myself?
Yes, for sure you could if you’re totally focused and can maintain that over 12 months, you have a strong ‘tribe’ of like minded women to support you, and you can find all the tools you need - they are all ‘out there’. Actually I don’t know anyone (myself included) who can create this kind of change so fast by themselves. This program will save you years. One of my clients who is one of the most self-motivated women I know said she achieved in one year what would have usually taken her 3-4 years. I know I achieve way more in a structured program with accountability - it cuts through all the tempting bright shiny objects I otherwise chase down rabbit holes! That’s why I offer programs - it’s where you get the biggest results. And probably the real answer to this question is: you know yourself - when you look at the results this program offers, have you ever achieved this much in one year?

Back to the quote at the beginning! Where will YOU be in 12 months time?

If you have any other questions, please contact me - I’m happy to answer them.

Inner Feng Shui Inspiration Tip #6

Do you think of yourself as spiritual?

 Religious?

If so, here’s a question to ponder:

Seeing as you believe in a higher power, how come you worry about things?  How come you spend any energy at  all doubting yourself and being fearful?

Are you asking spirit/God/the Universe for answers?

 Are you listening?

Hmmm….this is what’s inspiring me today - just
thought I’d share it with you!

 Love, Vicky

Inner Feng Shui Inspiration Tip #5

April 26th, 2010 Posted in Inspiration & Passion | 1 Comment »

…..of our continuing series!
It’s easy to fall into feeling judgmental about people in our lives. Can’t they see what they’re doing?  Don’t they know they’re wrong?

Ever think that about anybody?

Inspiration Tip #5: Whatever you’re thinking about someone else is a mirror for something within you.  If it wasn’t within you, you wouldn’t be able to see it.

I’ve been feeling judgmental about someone in my life and how they’re bringing up their child. (Like I’m some kind of expert!)  I started looking at what this was a reflection of in my own life - especially given that I have no control over someone else!

It hit me like a sack of raw veggies…..this is a direct reflection of my relationship with my business.

To get more clarity I journaled about everything wrong with my friend and the way this person is with their child - and the impact I feel it’s having on their child.  That gave me a whole lot of points I could apply to my relationship with my business and where that might be off.

I’ve come up with a whole page of changes I wish to make.  Here are a few:

- build a strong foundation so my business can grow up.  Specifically, get incorporated.

- stop micromanaging - specifically, delegate more.

- see my business as separate from me - specifically, separate all my bank accounts and credit cards so we’re two different entities.

- give my business some breathing space!

So, way more useful than sitting thinking about someone else and their child - which I can never change.  I CAN change how I am in my business!

Where are you judging a person or situation?

What’s that a mirror for in YOU?

….in our continuing series of tips to bring the mojo back into your life!

Inspiration Tip #4: Create space for YOU!

For most of us, this means scheduling ‘ME’ time.

This is time for renewal, for no-thing.  This is where you get to hear the whispers of your soul, where you have the space to notice the signs, messages and synchronicities coming your way.  This is space to really notice what inspires you.

There’s a difference between down time and time for you.  Down time is usually filled with things like television (did you know that in 1998 Americans watched an average of 5.1 hours/day of TV?  That means 10.92 weeks of television watching a year!)

Or clients will try to slot in yoga classes or other upgraded ways to spend their downtime.

What I’m recommending is a renewal day - and if you can’t do a whole day, part of a day.  This is time for you to BE - which can be scary I know. What if you really got to hear what your soul is calling out for??

So, here’s today’s tip.  Schedule some time each day for YOU.  And in this time, go within to feel what it is you really want to do in this moment.  Be suspicious of choosing anything on your to-do list!

When I do this, here are some of the things my heart calls out for:

Inner Feng Shui Inspiration Tip # 3 1/2

April 23rd, 2010 Posted in Inspiration & Passion | No Comments »

As we speed towards the weekend what is the most important question you can ask yourself today? Before I tell you….This is about thinking big! It’s important to stretch your beliefs about what is possible. Ready? Here it is:

What would I do if I knew I could do anything, and not fail?

I invite you to ask yourself this regularly - starting today. This is an opportunity to think way outside your box. Imagine you have all the self-confidence in the world, the money, the knowledge, the time, the support, the energy. And you cannot fail.

With all of this, what’s in your heart?

What would I do if I knew I could do anything, and not fail?

Ask this question with a wide open heart and mind. Be open to what you hear.

Once you have that, spend some time imagining being in that life. How would you feel? How would you BE!

This is probably the biggest question you can ask yourself and even if that thing never happens, it will inspire you to think bigger in what you’re going for now.

** Bonus tip:

You do NOT need to know how your dream will happen! That is none of your business! Once you allow yourself to dream, the Universe will step in to help you!

What if you achieved just 1 percent of your biggest dreams??

Till next time, stay inspired!

How to Create a Space that Inspires You!

April 22nd, 2010 Posted in Clutter Busting, Creating Change, Feng Shui Tips, Wealth & Prosperity | 4 Comments »

One of the keys to moving through times of transition and making the most of them is to create inner spaciousness.

This is what Eckhart Tolle writes about - removing the clutter from your life, whether physical, mental or emotional - anything that stops you being fully present in each moment.

Clutter and chaos will keep your head very busy - and that means your ego will feel right at home. And your ego’s job it to stop you creating space for inspiration and change.

Do you have a room of your own? A room you can’t wait to come home to? A room that nurtures your soul and inspires you to dream?

Over the years, many of my clients have created such a room for themselves.

One client had a home office that felt stagnant and uninspiring. She was ready for a change in her life so she set about removing everything from the room. She cleaned and cleared the energy there and took some time to choose perfect color. For some time she didn’t move anything back in - it felt so good to just sit in that room and feel the spaciousness. Going to that extreme allowed her to really drink in the new energy and be very deliberate about what she allowed back in.

From that space her new business was born. Gone is her ‘temporary’ fill-in office work. Now she’s following her passion.

It’s amazing what happens when your environment is working with you, not against you. Suddenly all those blocks are gone and you start attracting opportunites and people to support you. By creating space to breathe you are then able to notice the synchronicity that’s all around.

When you are surrounded by clutter you feel bogged down, lethargic and definitely uninspired.

Inner Feng Shui Inspiration Tip #2

April 21st, 2010 Posted in Inspiration & Passion | No Comments »

Do you have a life worth living?

That may sound like a funny question - of course  every life is precious, but many of my clients come  to me feeling something major is missing from their  life.

One way to create a more inspired life is to take  inspired actions.  And a powerful way to do this is  to come from a place of BEING the change you want for  yourself.

Sometimes it’s easiest to start from what you don’t  want.

For example: my clients know they don’t want to feel  powerless.  They do not want to feel something is  missing.  They want to know what’s next and they want  to feel empowered in a life worth living.

OK - this may be you too.

 Inspiration Tip #2

 1.  Start with feeling whole, feeling your life is so  vibrant and delicious.  Feel your way into a life  worth living - what would that feel like?  Really  feel it!

 2.  From this place of BEING ask yourself - what can  I DO today that will give me more of this feeling?
What is one action I can take?

It’s most likely something you haven’t been allowing  yourself.  It could be something that pushes the  edges of your comfort zone. It WILL be something that  makes you feel alive and passionate. Perhaps it’s  something that feels difficult - speaking your truth  to someone for example.

 3.  Take action.  Now’s the time to step into a life that’s worth living!  What will you do today?  Take  one small (or big) step now.

”I gave up creative writing about 8 years ago partly
because I was concerned about being too
”self-absorbed” with so much suffering in the world.
Allowing myself to fully follow my calling means I
feel “whole” again — for the first time in 8 years.
I have discovered and now celebrate ME. What a gift!”
 –Mary Montanye, CO

It’s where you stop yourself that keeps your life small.  This is one of the powerful tools I teach my clients so they can feel empowered.  I’m passionate  about supporting you in having life worth living!
 What else is there?

Let me know what YOU do.  I’d love to hear.

Your Inspiration Toolbox ~ Tip #1

April 19th, 2010 Posted in Inspiration & Passion | No Comments »

You probably know I aspire to live an inspired life!An inspired life is magical: I’m connected to spirit, taking inspired actions and doing what I’m here to do.When I’m inspired I have a connection to wisdom way beyond what I’m conscious of. I feel spacious, on track, creative and in my power - and this is where I’m at my best.

In celebration of inspiration I’m sending you some quick, powerful Inner Feng Shui tools you can use now - sort of like having a coach in your pocket for a bit. Please try them. Then grab the ones you resonate with and add them to your inspiration toolbox.

One of my favorite ways to shift energy is clutter busting. Today, here’s a tip Ellen, a friend and client discovered recently.

**Inspiration Tip #1: Use a pendulum to choose which books to let go of.

I had already gone through all my books (several times) in the past month and thought I had let go of all I could.

Then I used the pendulum. I took each book from the shelf one-by-one, held the pendulum over it and asked: is it for my highest good to keep this book?

I came up with another 10 books to let go of and this was just in my living room - next I’ll go through the books in my office. The pendulum helped me get beyond all my stories: I might need it one day, I haven’t read it yet, I might want to read it again. And I trust it, which made it easier. Books are wonderful things - chock full of inspiration and ideas, but not so great if I’m keeping them through guilt - I’ve bought them so I should read them! Meanwhile the moment they were relevant has passed.

Pendulum tips: You can use anything as a pendulum - a ring on a chain for example, or you can buy a pendulum in a ‘New Age’ bookstore. You’ll need to know which way your pendulum swings for yes and no. The way I originally figured this out was to hold my pendulum still and say: Is my name Fred? The pendulum started swinging in my ‘no’ direction. I then tested it by asking: is my name Vicky? And the pendulum swung in my ‘yes’ direction.

Letting go of old energy in your environment is a great way to create space to live an inspired life. Using a pendulum to help you, cuts through the clutter in your mind. Try it on papers, old folders of notes, unfinished craft projects - you’ll be surprised!

I’d love to hear what happens when you try this!

PS. These tips are a small taste of what I’ll be sharing with you in the F-R-E-E call next week: 7 keys for living a totally delicious and inspired life, even in the midst of chaos. Save your place here:  Inspiration Call
