7 Things I know for sure about what is possible!

December 28th, 2009 Posted in Creating Change, Inspiration & Passion

As a child, when I was told I couldn’t do something or have something I became really good at convincing myself I didn’t really want it! I didn’t want to watch TV anyway! I didn’t want to go somewhere with my friends anyway!

So there!

And as an adult when I told myself I couldn’t have something I managed to shove it so far back in my consciousness that I forgot I ever wanted it. Less painful than wanting something I couldn’t have. Except that as an adult it was ME telling myself I couldn’t have it!

That’s what happened with my car. My car recently became not long for this world. Everytime I drove it I wasn’t sure if I’d get home again - a major toleration. And for quite some time I racked my brains about what to do about it - not only that, but which car did I even want to drive?!

Completely forgetting that 10 years ago I had fallen in love with a VW Beetle I told myself I couldn’t have.

Why am I telling you this?

Well, you may have done something similar with one of your cherished dreams. And no matter how far down you shove it, they do have a habit of popping up - perhaps to see if you’re ready now!!

VW Beetles have been popping up in my consciousness recently. I decided to test drive one to make sure I really did like them. And what’s the harm in test driving one even though I can’t have one, right?

Perhaps test driving the Beetle did it….. a chink of light got in that allowed what I really wanted to sneak up on me! I started feeling really excited about this car! I couldn’t help it. My friends commented on my energy, my smile, whenever I talked about a VW Beetle. Gosh it even has my initials - that must mean something, right? I’m VBW - it’s VWB.

And that’s when all kinds of possibilities opened up - I started seeing myself driving one. It was like the Universe now knew I was listening and all kinds of synchronicity happened. I did what I suggest my clients do - I started taking action towards it even though I had no idea how it could happen.

Just so you know what a big thing this is - I’ve never even had a car that was worth getting comprehensive insurance on before! I’ve only ever had the basic insurance that insured the other person and their vehicle when I drove!

A few days ago I drove off the lot in my new car! Heated seats, flower in the vase, and all!

Something that never fails to shock me is how easy it is to deny I even have a dream especially when I don’t know how it might be possible - last year it was living near water - when I challenged my belief that I couldn’t afford that - I moved to my dream home ON the water!

This year when I challenged my belief that I couldn’t afford the car I really wanted, it all happened easily.

In my work with clients I see this all the time - I’ve become really good at challenging their assumptions about what is not possible. Most of the time they do not even realize they are making assumptions. And that’s where it all starts.

This is what I know for sure about what is possible:

1. What you believe about what is not possible for yourself, is what shuts down the part of yourself that gets to feel, and this determines your life!

2. It’s very easy to live a small life, in a small box.

3. It only takes letting the light into a little chink in your armor for the Universe to get into the game and support you!

4. Most people need someone else to give them permission to go for what they really want, and to even remember what it is they really want. Someone who doesn’t buy into their assumptions.

5. If I need this, likely you do too!

6. I know for sure that it’s never about mo’ney, it’s about who you’re be-ing! I see that in my clients and in myself - every day!

7. And ….when we expand in one area, opening to other possibilities just seems to happen, it’s like opening the flood gates to greater abundance!

What’s your dream? Who would you BE if you believed anything was possible (as it is!)? And are you ready to give yourself the greatest gift you could give yourself as we move into 2010…..the gift of possibility and magic!??

If you’re ready, I’m here to offer you that opportunity - to work with me in the Bring on Your Magical 2010 4 week program and REALLY uncover what you are most passionate about and set the scene for a totally awesome and magical 2010.

If you have even an inkling there may be more waiting for you, wouldn’t you like to know what?

I’d love to hear what you think might be possible for YOU when you allow the light to shine on it!

The VW is truly THE car that makes us SMILE! I recently had a fender bender and my car was in the shop for 4 weeks. I was able to get a rental car, and they tried to give me a huge gas guzzler…I said ‘no thanks’ I wanted a small car..a voila! the universe (and rental car company) gave me exactly what you bought!! What a fun car to drive..I will now have to own one when my car lease is up! Thanks for the great story about what is truly possible!

@Ginger great story - funny how cars are much more than a collection of metal - the perfect one finds us! When we let it! And yes, that was another clue - everytime I saw one I smiled!

    Dear Vicky,
I had been dreaming of financial abundance and security and I almost won a lottery! But I was totally out of focus and experienced a fierce scam instead. My credit is now totally shot!

Today, I read your intro and story of your VWB so I am manifesting again!

For 2010, I desire to give myself a second chance! But this time, with improved focus, feeling every movement with my heart for a change and not function out of fear. I have really brought myself down to my last few cents! I first thought No No! Punishment!!!

For sure, I need a lesson! I want to really correct my past behavior by focusing on an abundant worthwhile direction by writing down my every move and keeping an aerial view of what I am doing redirecting my way this time around and staying conscious! I want it to become a conscious constructive joy!

Vicky, who knows what lies ahead? I can decide that right? Thank you for an inspiration I never expected just moments
ago! I’ll write you about progress when I am running my own river again!

Thanks everyone - and Charlotte - you certainly deserve a second chance and a third and fourth…. Sometimes it’s good to practice on smaller things and build up that muscle, without waking up that part of ourselves that can freak out!! Good luck - I know you can do it!
